 Bill - Vasil Vasilev is a New York based pianist and music producer, who was raised in a family with diverse and international taste of music. At home, music was always in the air.Bill's father, a flamenco jazz guitarist who had led a jazz band in the 70's and 80's introduced him to the piano at the age of 3. The little man quickly showed enormous talent. At 16 he continued to study classical piano in Bologna - Italy and began playing auto saxophone. Two years later he moved to Sofia - Bulgaria to advance his education. At the time, his teacher exposed him to the music of Chopin and Rachmaninoff which only deepened his love for the piano. He later joined the Music Academy in Sofia to further explore his passion. At the age of 19, Bill relocated to Switzerland to study at the Zurich Academy, specializing in auto saxophone and classical piano.


His foray into jazz landed him in wintery New York, November 1999. Moving to the Big Apple was a challenging decision both personally and professionally. The young pianist had a tough beginning. He later started performing at jazz clubs and piano bars, and worked as a music arranger at AMI. This experience gave his music a unique sense of authenticity. Bill graduated from the New School University and while there, studied under such artists as Regie Workmann, Cecil Bridgewater, Charles Tolliver, George Garzone, Gerrard Diangello and Junior Mance. He was soon to be performing with Charles Tolliver Big Band, reflecting the essential role that Be Bop played in Bill's early years whilst in NY. He has worked in Public Relations at DCM and Carnegie Hall, as a pianist for Disney World and as a pianist, arranger and music director for Sea World FL.Bill has also worked with the likes of Chick Korea, Celine Dion, Arturo Sandoval, Eddie"Guagua"Rivera, Paco de Lucia, Gumby Ortiz, Candido Camero, Bobby Senabria, B.B.King, Cecil Bridgewater, John Benitez to name a few.
